I find it almost impossible to believe that I've nearly been living in London for six whole months. I honestly don't know where the time has gone, and it's terrifying that I may only be here for another six months (until my 12 month internship is up). Yesterday I finally did something I had been meaning to do since I moved, which was creating an Instagram account dedicate purely to photos that I've snapped on my London travels. I'm a bit of a photography enthusiast (then again who isn't these days), but if you would like to follow my account then you can do here: @bekkacollinsphoto.
As for the rest of this blogpost, I figured I'd just have a general catch up about what has happened since my last post.

Yesterday I decided that it would be a good idea to go to Camden. So I met up with a friend from work and we roamed around the streets and the markets, and soaked up the general tourist vibe that always surrounds Camden. Though technically we're both tourists, so I guess we just added to it.

After the fun-filled month that was January, I have been in a bit of a funk this February. It's started out pretty slowly, and then I got hit with a horrendous cold and had to take some time off work. Thankfully things picked up a little bit this weekend. I spent Valentine's Day with two of the girls from work, firstly at the Britain's Got Talent auditions, then at Nandos, then drinking wine out of mugs. It was way better than the alternative which would have been me drinking wine alone in bed and watching Netflix.

I don't know what it is about lines and lights, but I just love photographing them. These photos were taken back when I wrote this post, and even though they are some of the simplest photos I've taken I really like them. Beauty can be found within every day situations that we often always overlook, and snapping these photos reminded me just how important it is to actually appreciate your surroundings even if they may not seem that great on the surface.

I moved to London on October 4th, and in the short time that I've been here I've already experienced so many new and exciting things. It's crazy to me that I actually even made the move, and when I get the chance to go sightseeing the reality always hits even harder, causing me to fall in love with London a little bit more each time.

Like every year, my resolution is to document more. I'm currently working full time, but I made a promise to myself this year that I was going to be looking through a lens a lot more than usual, and so I figured it might be a good idea to share what I capture on this blog. I've been in London for a few months now, but I'm finally finding my feet and finding time to be a tourist - which is great for me, but not so great for my bank balance.
